Thanks to you, Jeremy continues to make great progress in his long journey of recovery. Because of your generosity, he continues to work hard at his intense physical therapy. His core strength has increased where he’s able to balance and sit at the edge of the table for over a minute. This may not seem like much but from where he was at just one year ago is something to celebrate.
One of his most recent accomplishments brings him back to pursuing a lifelong passion of the outdoors and hunting. Jeremy was able to purchase an adaptive gun mount that gives him the ability to fire a gun on his own. In mid-November, he teamed up with an organization called the “Wheeling Sportsmen” and took part in a deer hunt with a crossbow at Maumee Bay State Park. Hunting and sport shooting is something that he used to do and now with this new adaptive mount that is all made possible again.
This all comes into play because Team Bigelow has joined together to emotionally and financially support Jeremy’s long climb up the mountain. It all started with getting him back up to therapy, which in turn, with his determination has given him strength and confidence to get up and out more often motivating others to push through the hardest times. His testimony of faith and triumphs continues to grow every day into a story that has changed the lives of so many already.
Jeremy continues to spend time with the Sylvania Northview hockey team, and loves building relationships with the team. Transforming lives of the young men of the future has truly given him a purpose and understanding of giving back. Throughout his life, so many have been mentors and positive influences that those experiences have led Jeremy to share his story and hopefully change the lives of others.
Although there will not be a March fundraiser this year, Jeremy continues to work hard in his road to recovery. As he chases down his goals of doing the things he loves, giving back to the community, and his hopes of one day opening a spinal cord injury rehabilitation facility in Toledo for others to take part in. But with all these goals comes a financial burden. If you’re still interested in supporting Jeremy and his road to recovery, there has been a donate button placed on the Team Bigelow webpage.
As a crucial part of Team Bigelow, words cannot describe what the support has meant not just to him, but to his family as well. There continues to be hard times, but in order to get back up, we all need to keep moving forward with belief and positivity. Now that he’s feeling better than ever, Jeremy feels that a way of giving back into the community is to tell his story of triumphs and tribulations. If anyone is interested, please feel free to contact Jeremy.
As we take a step back and look at what it has really meant to have such a support group, it’s really tough to put it in words. From day one of the accident, everyone has come together to be a solid foundation that Jeremy will continue to build on.
Thank you again for believing in Jeremy and being a part of Team Bigelow!
